Veneers and Cosmetic Dentistry

What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells of either porcelain or composite that are bonded onto the front side of a tooth to improve its appearance (shade, shape or alignment). They are commonly used for aesthetic reasons and can be fabricated in clinic or sent to the laboratory.

Composite vs Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers require a minimal amount of tooth reduction and do not compromise the strength of the tooth. They are tooth like in appearance and it is possible to obtain significant change in  shades with these veneers.

Composite veneers is tooth coloured resin which is bonded to the tooth. They are used for cosmetic reasons or to fill decayed and broken down teeth. Composite veneers can be placed directly in the clinic or sent to the lab.

Please note any surgical or invasive procedure carries risk. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion by a
suitably qualified health care professional.
