TMJ/TMD

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint that joins the jaw to the temporal bones in your skull positioned in front of each ear. This joint allows you to move your jaw to chew, talk and for facial expressions.

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) pertains to problems in the TMJ and surrounding facial muscles. Common symptoms include facial pain, jaw pain/tightness, headaches and ear pain.

Treatment options vary depending on the condition and cause of the symptoms.
