Crowns and Bridges

What is a Dental Crown?

A crown is like a thimble placed entirely over an existing tooth. It can be used to protect decayed or broken teeth to improve strength and appearance. Crowns are commonly made from porcelain, metal or a mix with porcelain
fused to metal. Although majority of the crowns done recently are metal free.

A dental crown can be cemented over your own tooth or screwed into a supporting dental implant providing a tooth-like structure for function and aesthetics.

What are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are designed to replace one or more missing teeth. The bridge is attached to the existing teeth on either side of the gap left by the missing teeth. Similarly to crowns, bridges are made from porcelain, metal or a combination of both and can cemented over your own teeth or screwed into supporting dental implants surrounding the missing teeth providing a tooth-like structure for function and aesthetics.

Please note any surgical or invasive procedure carries risk. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion by a
suitably qualified health care professional.
